ASSC 29 Calls for Symposium and Tutorial submissions is NOW OPEN!
Join us at our 29th Annual Meeting of the Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness (ASSC29) from June 30 to July 3, 2026, in Santiago, Chile.
ASSC29 brings together researchers from around the world to share the latest findings and ideas in the scientific study of consciousness. Topics will include empirical, theoretical, and philosophical investigations into the neural correlates of consciousness and the nature of subjective experience.
Calls for Abstract submissions is NOW OPEN!
We welcome submissions of abstracts on any topic relevant to the scientific study of consciousness.
All submissions will undergo peer review by two independent raters on the basis of relevance to the aims of the ASSC and scientific quality.
Scientific quality for empirical work refers to: clarity of the aims, soundness of methodology, clarity of results, soundness of conclusions.
Scientific quality for theoretical work refers to: conceptual rationale, robustness of theoretical argument, significance for theory, soundness of conclusions.

Abstract guidelines
Abstracts should comprise a brief but informative description of both the content and method of presentation. Abstract length should be a maximum of 250 words.
The abstract should include:
- Where the presentation presents primary research, the impact of the research on practice, policy or theory.
- Where the presentation presents a theoretical argument, the current context to the argument presented.
- The relevance of the presentation to the conference theme.
- The national or international significance of the presentation.
- The general information could be structured:
- Introduction
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
Submission Process
Please note, during the online submission process:

You must fill in all the required text fields with the submission details – Fields that do NOT have an asterisk are OPTIONAL.

All submissions will be considered for poster presentation during coffee breaks and designated poster presentation times.

Submissions with highest scores will be prioritized for talks, unless a preference for “Poster only” presentation has been indicated.

Talks refer to oral presentations taking place within 15-minute slots including Q&A, happening concurrently with other oral presentation sessions.

Participants can have only one submission as a first author (presenter), but they may be co-authors on more than one submission

The official language of presentation in the conference is English.

At least one author from each accepted submission will be required to make an Early registration in order for their contribution to be included in the conference programme.

Accepted proposals will be published in a book of abstracts (electronic format).
